JMLA Case Studies in Health Sciences Librarianship

16 04 2008

A very nice suggestion of the Krafty Librarian (freely cited):

Sharp up your search skills by following the JMLA Case Studies Blog that serves as an online forum for discussion the search strategies addressing the cases, presented in the JMLA (The Journal of the Medical Library Association).

The blog lists the cases presented in the journal (free full text) and then posts the search challenges and strategies for each post. See the figure below for this week’s challenge.

I think I will follow Krafty’s advice to add this blog to my feed reader and follow the searches and comments.

At our Medical Library we now have a kind of in-service training to improve our search and EBM skills. It might be a good idea to discuss these case studies and the resultant searches in these lunch sessions.
